BOA currently has 1,301 shareholders, all private individuals or institutions in the private sector.

The Bank's authorized capital is currently (June 30,2009) Birr 630 million, its subscribed capital Birr 315 million , paid up capital Birr 313 million, Capital including Legal Reserve & Special Reserve 417 million .

BOA's branches are expanding. Currently we have 24 branches in Addis and 24 in the regions (Awassa, Bahir Dar, Gondar, Mekelle, Jimma, Nazareth, Dire Dawa, Debre Brehan, Dilla, Debre Markos, Bishoftu, Dessie, Arba-Minch, Motta, Teppi, Debere-Tabor, Hossaena, Sahsemene, Alemgenna, Harrar, Hagere Mariam, Modjo, Humera, Chagni).

BOA is a very competitive Bank. It has won four consecutive tenders for banking services. All commercial banks participated in these bids. BOA is the only commercial bank which provides on-site services to diplomatic missions.
